Civic and Recreational Committee UpdateFollowing the Civic and Recreational Committee meeting held on Monday 27th July, we're pleased to share an update on key projects and community improvements across the Parish.
We're also delighted to confirm that Cllr White has been appointed as Chair of the Civic and Recreational Committee, with Cllr Marr appointed as Vice Chair for the ensuing year.
Cemetery and Memorial Works:
Windlesham Cemetery: The cemetery drainage project is progressing well. Plans to grass over the old pathway are moving forward, with archaeological services approved.
Bagshot Cemetery: Pathway improvement works are also progressing, with archaeological oversight approved to support the next stage of the project.
Memorial Testing: Safety testing will take place across all three parish cemeteries, focusing on Priority 2 memorials.
Supporting Our Community£500 has been awarded to Windlesham Derby and Joan to support entertainment for residents aged over 60.
£1,000 has been awarded to Windlesham Field of Remembrance to help cover waste collection costs.
Lightwater Memorial GardenAdditional planting has been approved for the Memorial Garden, including evergreen and drought-tolerant perennials. These improvements will enhance the garden throughout the year while improving resilience and reducing long-term maintenance costs.
We'll continue to keep residents updated as these projects progress.
