What is Surrey Prepared?

Surrey Prepared is a county wide initiative led by Surrey County Council and partner organisations to help communities become more resilient in the face of emergencies. It focuses on giving residents, neighbourhood groups, and local councils the tools and guidance needed to prepare for events such as severe weather, flooding, power outages, and other disruptions.
The scheme forms part of the wider Surrey Community Resilience Partnership, which works to support communities in planning ahead and protecting themselves before emergencies occur. It encourages residents to think about local risks, create simple emergency plans, and understand how they can help one another during unexpected situations.
Surrey Prepared is also a multi agency partnership that promotes community-led resilience across Surrey, helping local groups to organise, build support networks, and respond more effectively when incidents happen.
By taking a few practical steps now, households and communities can significantly reduce the impact of emergencies and recover more quickly.
