Update following the latest Civic Amenities and Recreation Committee Meeting

Update following the Civic Amenities and Recreation committee meeting held on Monday 11 May.
The parish council is pleased to share some positive updates from the latest Civic Amenities & Recreation Committee meeting, with several improvements planned across Bagshot, Lightwater and Windlesham:
Cemeteries & Community Spaces:
• Improvements approved for drainage and pathways at both Windlesham and Bagshot Cemeteries, helping ensure safer, more accessible spaces for visitors.
• Work in Windlesham will include resurfacing part of the older pathway with grass to improve ground conditions.
• Ongoing work continues in Lightwater Cemetery, including boundary marking and fencing improvements.
Supporting Local Events & Groups
• Grants awarded to support community activities, including:
o Bagshot Events – towards FIFA world cup flags
o Lightwater School PTA – towards LVS fest
o Windlesham Over 60s Lunch Club
Ongoing Works & Upcoming Improvements
• The new pathway at School Lane Field, Bagshot is now complete.
• Hanging baskets are now proudly on display in all three villages.
• Village flags are being rolled out in Lightwater imminently.
• Plans are progressing for tree maintenance in Windlesham and biodiversity improvements in Bagshot.
The council will keep residents updated as these improvements progress, and as always, thank you for your support.
The next Civic Amenities and Recreation Committee meeting is due to be held on 27 July at 7:30pm at Lightwater Library.
