Community Spirit Celebrated at the Annual Parish Meeting

Residents came together last night for the Annual Parish Meeting, hosted by Chairman Cllr Valerie White, who welcomed attendees and reflected on another year of local achievements. A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Annual Service to the Community Awards, recognising outstanding volunteers from Bagshot, Lightwater and Windlesham.
Award Recipients
Bagshot
• Rachael Welch – Dogs Walk This Way Rescue (dogswalkthiswayrescue.com)
Honoured for her exceptional dedication to animal welfare, providing rescue support, emergency care and guidance to local pet owners.
Lightwater
• 1st Lightwater Scouts – Group Award
Recognising the commitment of leaders and volunteers across all sections of the Scout group. Special mentions were given to Dr Christabel “Chrissy” Welding, Helen Christian, Paul Reynolds, Jonathan Emery, Teresa Murphy and Alison Porter.
• Gill Cole – Lightwater Village School PTA
For many years of dedicated support to the PTA and volunteering with Squirrels.
• Junior Award: Cameron– Lightwater Scouts
Now in its second year, this award was presented to Cameron for his exceptional service as a Young Leader, supporting Scouts and Cubs each week and continually developing his skills.
Windlesham
• George Gilbert
For leading the Windlesham litter pick and other community initiatives.
• Windlesham Village Fete Committee
Recognised for their year round work delivering the Village Fete and Christmas event.
• Shelley & Jerry Lawson – Windlesham Village Picnic
For organising the well-loved Village Picnic and bringing the community together whilst supporting local charities.
The Parish Council congratulates all recipients and thanks every volunteer who continues to enrich community life across the parish.
