Lightwater Village Committee – October 2025 Update

The Lightwater Village Committee met on 13th October 2025 at Lightwater Library.
Below is a summary of the key topics discussed and decisions made:

Community Events at the Recreation Ground – 2026
Two community events have been approved for next year:
- The Lightwater Fete – Organised by Lightwater Connected, this much-loved event will return in May 2026.
- Lightwater Music Festival – Hosted by The Lightwater Society, this exciting event will bring live music and entertainment to the village in July 2026.

Remembrance Sunday Preparations
War Memorial – Additional maintenance and planting will be carried out to ensure the memorial looks its best ahead Remembrance Sunday.
Wreath Laying – A Lightwater councillor will lay a wreath on behalf of the community to honour those who served.

A322/M3 Roadworks – Improving Communication
The Committee will be writing to Skanska to request improved communication regarding the current A322/M3 works, with the aim of working together to keep residents better informed.

Supporting Lightwater 1st Scouts – Bonfire Night

A grant has been approved to support Lightwater 1st Scouts with safety fencing for their Bonfire Night event on 8th November, helping to ensure a safe and enjoyable evening for all attendees.
