Chairman’s Report following the latest Full Council Meeting held on Tuesday 24th June 2025 at St Anne’s Church Centre, Bagshot
We were pleased to welcome residents to our Full Council meeting last week. It was a productive evening presenting a range of important updates for our parish.
Some Key Points covered during the meeting:
Asset Transfers Council reviewed community feedback and agreed to work closely with village representatives to assess potential opportunities for maintaining local ownership.
Heathpark Wood Community Centre After a recorded vote, Council resolved not to adopt the building at this time, in line with the Windlesham Committee's recommendation.
Should any local community groups be interested in adopting the building, the Council is happy to facilitate a referral to the developer.
Finance Updates Payments amounting to £9,765.97 were approved, along with budget virements to align with recent event costs covered by the Chairman’s allowance.
The Council approved the Budget Monitoring Report up to 5th June 2025 without raising any issues, noting the Actual vs Budget, Balance Sheet, and Income and Expenditure reports.
High Curley SSSI Access The Council is aware of the issues caused by motorcycle and quad bike intrusion and is working closely with the police, who have increased patrols around Lightwater Country Park. The need for further measures will be assessed based on the impact of this enforcement activity
External Representation & Community Roles Council will be advertising local trustee roles following a review of responsibilities, helping residents find the right fit for community representation.
Looking Ahead WPC is exploring key opportunities for partnership working around neighbourhood forums and future devolution planning.
