Heritage Open Day at Bagshot Chapel Draws Over 60 Visitors

Published: 16 September 2024

The historic Bagshot Chapel opened its doors on Saturday for the annual Heritage Open Day, welcoming more than 60 visitors from the local community and beyond.

The event, which highlights the 17th-century chapel’s rich history and architectural charm, was a resounding success.

Councillor Valerie White of Windlesham Parish Council, who has hosted the event for several years, expressed her gratitude to those who attended. "Thank you to everyone who visited Bagshot Chapel this weekend. We were delighted to welcome over 60 visitors, and as always, I had some wonderful conversations with both past and present residents. I never tire of hearing your memories.” Councillor White also extended her thanks to Councillor Frank Du Cann and Councillor Andrew Willgoss for their help on the day.

The Heritage Open Day is part of a nationwide initiative celebrating historic sites, offering a rare opportunity for visitors to explore Bagshot Chapel and learn more about its past. The event continues to draw both locals and visitors from further afield, eager to experience this unique piece of local history.

The next event at Bagshot Chapel will be the much-anticipated Christmas Carols. Details will be shared on our website and social media channels, so stay tuned for updates!
