Windlesham Parish Council Hosts The Annual Community Reception 2024

On Saturday 27th April, Windlesham Parish Council was delighted to host the annual Community Reception at All Saints Church Hall, Lightwater.
The Community Reception is a celebratory event to acknowledge the voluntary work undertaken in the Parish and surrounding. Each year, Councillors are asked to nominate members of the community to receive awards for their contributions.
We were joined on Saturday, by The SHBC Mayor, Pat Tedder, alongside the Parish Councillors and previous award winners.
This year’s award winners are:
Bagshot
Sharron Simpkins – for nearly 40 years of voluntary service at Curley Park Rangers.
Lightwater
Paul Cronin – For the hard work and involvement in setting up and running of The Camberley Men’s Shed.
Fiona and Richard Wooley – For their years of dedication to The Briars Centre.
Windlesham
Majorie Stillwell, Anita Gibbs and Barbara Sawford – For their many years of organising events at The Windlesham Darby and Joan Club.
Robin Lewis – For years of service to the community, volunteering at The Windlesham Field of Remembrance and Village Christmas Tree decorating.
Fiona Burlinson – For her many years of hard work editing the Windlesham Magazine.
Sally Clark – In recognition of the remarkable work she has carried out on the historical assets register for Windlesham. Sally has been researching and writing local history articles for 12 years.
Moira Nairn – In recognition of her dedication to the historical assets register for Windlesham, and the invaluable research identifying historical memorials requiring restoration in Windlesham.
The afternoon was a lovely opportunity to thank those who give their time to help in the community. A huge congratulations to the award winners!
