NOTICE OF A CASUAL VACANCY
Under section 87(2) of the Local Government Act 1972 notice is given that a vacancy has occurred in the office of Councillor for Bagshot Ward of Windlesham Parish Council.
During the period from the date hereof until 3rd March 2021,10 electors of the Bagshot Ward of the Parish of Windlesham may call for a by-election to fill the vacancy by application to:
The Returning Officer, Surrey Heath Borough Council, Knoll Road, Camberley, GU15 3HD
By virtue of the Coronavirus Act 2020 and the Local Government and Police and Crime Commissioner (Coronavirus) (Postponement of Elections and Referendums) (England and Wales) Regulations 2020, the by-election will not currently take place. Instead the vacancy will be held open until such time as the by-election can take place. The 2020 Regulations provide for the by-election to take place on Thursday 6th May 2021, however this date may be brought forward or deferred by the Government. Any election that is called will be duly publicised as required by law.
In the absence of any applications for a by-election, the vacancy will be filled by co-option in due course.
