Q. When are the Parish Council Offices Open?
A. The Office is normally open to the public from 9.30am-12.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please contact the Office if you wish to make an appointment outside these times. (See Council Staff)
Q. Can I contact my Councillor direct?
A. Yes, you can contact any Councillor by email using this web site (see "Councillors" ) and also by telephone. Their phone numbers are listed on the village notice boards and in the Parish magazines.
Q. Can I attend Parish Council Meetings?
A. Yes, you can attend any full Council or committee meeting. However, the public will be excluded from any Confidential items that arise at any of these meetings. These are listed on this web site (See "Council Meetings").
Q. Can I ask a question at these meetings?
A. You are not permitted to speak during the meetings but prior to the start of the meeting there is an allocated amount of time for questions from the public. Click on this "Public Question Time" link for the correct procedures.
Q. Can I put notices on Parish Council notice boards?
A. Only non-commercial advertising by local organisations is permitted.
Q. Can I visit Windlesham Arboretum?
A. The general public is only permitted to use the public Rghts of Way within the Arboretum. Further details can be obtained from the Spowers Charitable Trust.
Q. Who looks after the Windlesham Field of Remembrance?
A. The Parish Council do not manage the Field of Remembrance. There is a Management Committee whose contact details are available listed under "Useful Contacts".
Q. How can I report problems with roads and footpaths?
A. These can be raised with the Parish Council who may be able to deal with minor problems but, in most cases, the quickest way to report highways issues is by contacting Surrey County Council direct on www.surreycc.gov.uk.
Q. I don't live within the Parish, can I be buried in any of the three Cemeteries?
A. Yes, all three Cemeteries are available for non-parishioners. Both Lightwater and Windlesham Cemeteries are currently open for the burial of ashes and coffin interments. Bagshot Cemetery is closed, although graves with space for a second coffin may be re-opened. Cremated remains may still be buried at the Memorial Wall at Bagshot. See Cemetery Information for more details.
Q. Am I allowed to scatter ashes following a cremation?
A. No, scattering or strewing of ashes is not permitted. All ashes MUST be interred in an urn or casket and only in accordance with the regulations (See Cemetery Regulations)
Q. Am I allowed to have any type or style of Memorial on a grave?
A. No, all Memorials MUST be approved by the Parish Council prior to erection, and no form of kerbing or grave surrounds are permitted at all. Please see Cemetery Regulations).
Q. Can I apply for an Allotment?
A. Our allotment waiting list is open again. Please contact the Parish Council office for more details.
